I have created a facebook group called "GAY PEOPLE BANNED FROM DONATING BLOOD - WE NEED TO SPREAD THE WORD."
I was shocked when I found out that gay men were not allowed to donate blood, by law. It has been proven that not only homosexuals contracts STDs and this law needs to be changed.
It is a possible Charter Challenge as well as it infringes upon the rights of homosexual men. For more information, join my facebook group and spread the word!

I started this because I could not believe these outdated restrictions were still the law of the land. Reading your stories about being turned away at donation centers makes me realize just how many people are hurt by this discrimination every single day.

Seeing this momentum grow reminds me why I started fighting this outdated policy in the first place. It hits home to think about how many people have been unfairly turned away at donation centers when they simply wanted to help save a life.

science has moved on but these laws havent. fix it, tired of this discrimination.
My boyfriend wanted to give blood after the local tragedy and wasnt allowed. It broke his heart. Change the policy already.
Just let people help others. So many shortages at hospitals and they keep turning away perfectly good donors.
Its 2015 people. Blood is blood. My brother is gay and he is the healthiest person I know.
TOTAL B.S. I tried to donate last month and they treated me like a criminal. Ridiculous.

This rule is so outdated. Screen for the virus dont screen for the person.
