PLEASE JUST SIGN THE PETITION, NO NEED TO CONTRIBUTE

Tom and Emma have been enriching Wimbledon Village with their beautiful flower displays for 20 years.

Their stall, The Stand, on the High Street (opposite Rose & Crown) is under threat of closure, as recently the council have asked them to remove the kiosk each night in accordance with their licence.

This is unmanageable as the kiosk gets blocked in by bike racks, telephone box, electric charging meters, pizza van, traffic lights and continued enforcement will result in the business failing.

Let’s not lose another small family business.

These are just a few reasons to support The Stand

  • Tom's Flower stall enhances the attractive street scene of our High Street and brings such joy and happiness to our local community and visitors driving past, shopping, and walking on Wimbledon Common.
  • As one of the few remaining independent businesses in our Village, it is crucial that we support Tom and Emma in their fight for survival.
  • The fabulous floristry arrangements, bouquets, Xmas trees and plants increase foot fall to our High Street and other businesses in the area.
  • This modern handsome kiosk provides a space to arrange flowers, store vital supplies and provides shelter from wind, rain, and heat.
  • It’s a meeting place for people to catch up on village news.

The flower stall enhances the street scene and contributes to the economy of Wimbledon Village. Local entrepreneurs need our support, not the imposition of unreasonable conditions which would drive them out of business.

I am outraged that this wonderful business that supports and adds colour to the local community is u see threat. We live on Marryat Road and loss of this business was would be hugely detrimental to our immediate environment.

Please do not let this great business close. It is a bedrock of the village and Tom and his team are great addition. There flowers are by far the best in the village . I will have to travel to get flowers if they go

Tom & Emma have been an integral part of the village for over 20 years and the kiosk has become such a hub. Losing one of the last independent businesses in the village would be devastating. Merton Council must start doing more to protect small local businesses.

Absolutely love The Stand and when so much of the village is full of chain stores and restaurants I think it is so important to support this family business. Apart from being excellent florists they’re always so friendly and I wouldn’t want to lose them from the village!!

I have lived in the village for 20 years. The high street is already u set threat with many closed shops. The kiosk is a lovely addition. I hope the council actual visit the village and meet with local people before they make these decisions.

The flower stand adds to the Village and would be a great loss.

The village flower stall is an integral part of Wimbledon life - I live 30 years from the stall brings colour and fragrance. It is also the main source for flowers down our end of the village.
