My family sat down with me this evening to talk about the resources you all helped provide. They are now using my correct name and pronouns which feels like the start of a much better chapter. I am deeply appreciative of the quiet strength you provided by validating my identity …

Hello! I'm Damon, and I'm a freshman in highschool! I also happen to be transgender! FTM (female to male) to be exact!
My family accepts my identity but does not act on it!
That's because they are misinformed and think it's a grab for attention or I'm just trying to be special. That's not at all what I want to do! I just want to be accepted and treated as the person i am on the inside.
If you sign this petition, I will be able to convince my family to use my name and pronouns, and actually read resources!
Help me out if you can, it takes less than a minute to sign!
Thank you for reading!

Transgender and transsexualism is not a plead for help, and ignoring it can have a huge detrimental effect on your child. Please, for the love of them, respect their use of pronouns and maybe check out PFLAG or another LGBT+ Oriented group for parents!

I know it's a very scary place to imagine your son living in, but you have the power to make it so much easier for him. It's hard to know where to start but you can research and he can tell you what the process of HRT is like and what you can do to support him. Love and peace to your family.

Trans isn't a trend. More visibility can make it seem like it's becoming more and more common, but that's because people feel safer to come out. Your son felt safe enough to come out to you and for that you should feel proud, now he needs your support to get through his transition.

I recommend showing your parents some of Chase Ross's videos he's doing this August on Trans 101 for cis people in our lives https://www.youtube.com/user/uppercaseCHASE1. My understanding is blockers allow time to "prove" it's not a "phase"? I hope it works out for you :).

Hey! I've identified as nonbinary for over half my life and can assure you that this is not a phase. Acting on yout child's need to transition will make them feel more like themselves which in turn often makes the child more sociable and open when they feel seen as what they are. Best of luck!

I came out as a trans boy my freshman year of high school. 5 years later, my family is still kinda crappy about it. I hope my signature A) helps you know you're not alone and B) helps your dad start to respect you.

I'm nonbinary, and my family doesn't understand it because i dont care how i dress or what pronouns people use. I hope that this will help you. Lots of love ~T
