im crying writing this because the call just came in and my mom is coming home to take care of grandma. i dont have the words to describe how much it means that all of you pushed for this. thank you for giving them this time together.

Purpose of this petition is to respectfully request that Helen Zourdos be allowed to serve her 20 sentence via home confinement so she can care for her 95-year-old incapacitated mother, who suffers from advanced dementia, and who’s life expectancy is only 1 to 2 years due to her advanced stage of dementia and other serious health conditions including COPD chronic respiratory failure requiring daily oxygen, congestive heart failure, and bladder cancer. The compassion sought is so she does not have to live out the last few months of her life without the care, consolation and love of her daughter by your side especially when she lacks the cognitive ability to understand why her daughter is absent.

I have seen how much care Hellen has given to her mother and how much work it is. Hellen has been there for her mother and sad that an elderly woman has to suffer so much when home confinement for Hellen would still be a be under supervision while not punishing her mom.
She was involved with tax issues as her reason for imprisonment. She is a loving and safe woman to have in our communities. Civil confinement to her home is sentence enough. Plus she's already served more than half her time.
As someone that took care of my mother with Alzheimer’s I think by letting Helen serve her sentence taking care of her mother would help both of them deal with what is upon them! Please allow her to take care of her mother!
I’ve known this family for over 30 years. They are good people. I honestly don’t think that the punishment is fair. Please don’t take the last memories that this family will have with their loved one away.
I work in a unit with people that have dementia and having people and atmosphere that are sequential and familiar is crucial

I was a caregiver for my husband who had dementia. I know how difficult it can be. Helen takes care of her mother so please understand that dementia is a mean illness and family is everything. There will come a time when her mother won't know her so please allow them the time that they can have now.
