This petition is to help the students of Agawam High School to have a new track built. Since 2006, Agawam Track&Field has not been able to host a meet because the track is not regulation size, nor is it the right material. The track has become so bad that some of the students have to be transported with their own rides to Suffield Academy, to practice for track&field events because our track facility is not in condition of practicing on. There has been talk about a whole new high school being built along with sports facilities as well, but this wont happen for at least another 10 years, much too long for the students to wait. We hope that with the support of all who see and sign this petition, that we can bring this issue to the attention of The Town Of Agawam and hopefully have this resolved. Also, there is a money donation section after signing your name and email. This is not required, we ask that you just skip that section. Thanks.
Watching the students pile into cars to drive to Suffield just to practice reminds me every day why this is so urgent. I have been putting together a packet of these stories to present directly to the town council members next week.

Seeing this kind of momentum feels unreal because I know exactly how much our student athletes have been struggling just to have a decent place to practice. It means the world to see the community recognize that ten years is far too long to ask our kids to wait for a safe track.

Ridiculous that kids have to drive to another town just to practice. These athletes deserve a proper facility at home. Fix the track already.

My son is on the team and it is honestly so embarrassing. How can they expect them to improve when they dont even have a real track to run on???
