The feedback from fellow enthusiasts shows we are tired of being treated like an afterthought. I am currently drafting a formal letter to the airport management to demand a meeting regarding these facilities. Email the airport press office today to ask when they plan to address our request.

The response to this campaign proves how many of us are tired of being ignored by airport management. Momentum is building so I need you to email your local representative now to demand a meeting about these facilities.

As an enthusiast brought up in the late fifties / early sixties who enjoyed the excellent facilities provided by both Heathrow and Gatwick, I fully endorse this petition to have new facilities at Heathrow and Gatwick. We once led the aviation world in airport facilities, but now Amsterdam, Frankfurt, and many more European airports leave us embarrassed now !
rvp at manchester is a money maker one at heathrow would be even more popular and give the airport extra income while at the same time keeping most spotters in one place
The loss of the Queens Building facility, that was never really replaced, was the nail in the coffin for community provisions. With runway #3 on the way, could this be an opportunity to provide facilities for enthusiasts, travellers and members of the local community alike...?

Unless you're flying from T4 and can access the viewing room, what other enthusiast facilities do HAL offer now? They closed the Visitor Centre to the public, doubled up the perimeter fence - preventing photography and now move people on from public roads. The place is a joke. There is always the 'Grandstand', I suppose. You may even see an aircraft from there if you're lucky...
With development of the whole area about to get underway Heathrow has a great opportunity to develope and improve it's relationships with local residents and enthusiasts alike.
Totally in agreement. Just go to certain airports in Asia and most Germany airports have excellent facilities. I would not even mind paying a small fee.

Having used viewing facilities at other airports around the world Heathrow is put to shame by them all. Zurich & Amsterdam in particular both have full-length rooftop facilities. The old excuse of security doesn't wash anymore.
