In memory of Hazel Hill, the renaming of the Child Development Center at San Joaquin Delta College to the Hazel Hill Child Development Center will take place on FRIDAY, APRIL 1, 2016 from 4:30-6 pm on the building site. April 1, 2016 was Hazel's birthday and it is a fitting commemorative date.
The CDC was the vision of Dr. Hazel Hill who, at the time of its development, was the Division Dean of the Family and Consumer Sciences Division. Her goal was to create a working lab for students in the Child Development Program, provide a service to students in need of day care, and provide a service to the community. Her dedication, passion and drive made the center a reality and a state-of-the-art facility for learning. As the Dean of Vocational Education and Economic Development, she worked with the community and provided resources for the center to ensure its continued success. She was a magnificent ambassador for the Delta College campus and for community college education statewide, and this is a meaningful way to commemorate her amazing contributions.

I've known Hazel for most of my 29 years at Delta. I remember how much time and effort she put into the making of the Child Development Center. Therefore, I strongly support naming the center after Dr. Hazel Hill. She was an amazing administrator and a kind, caring, and loving human being.
Once of first persons to welcome me to the Stockon professional community. The pathways she provided for countless students and colleagues cannot be described as it was incredible. Renaming the CDC in her honor is not only fitting, but it is the right thing to do.
Worked on many projects together between CPS and Delta. Hazel was so passionate and leaves a rich legacy for others to follow. Naming the Child Development Center in her name will carry on that legacy for future generations. Denny Ah-Tye Child Welfare Division Chief (Retired) San Joaquin County
Hazel was rightfully very proud of her role in creation of the the Child Development Center. She had to overcome some stiff resistance to the idea, and displayed her usual firm and methodical advocacy. It would be a most fitting tribute to her that it bear her name.
Mr. Hazel Hill (Jim), thinks this renaming would be a wonderful and deserved tribute to my wife Hazel…the Love of my Life. Thanks with all my broken heart, to all those folks wanting this to happen.
A truly dedicated and energetic instructor, very deserving for the honor of having the Child Development Center dedicated to her. She will be missed.

Hazel worked so hard to see child care center at Delta College not only students and employees got advantage of having a child care but also ealy child care program student got to do some of the field work at the center without leaving the campus. I hope we can honor Hazel by naming the center in her name
