I am a sometimes market trader at Hatherleigh and would hate to see the heart ripped out of this wonderful town.

I love Hatherleigh Market. I buy most of my meat and veg there and other day to day essentials as I live in Hatherleigh. Why don't the councillors work for the community instead of deciding things "on the behalf of the community" without even paying attention to what the community wants........... I can't imagine the town without the weekly market and what goes on at the site for the rest of the week....... never mind the Ruby Market...... that is legendary!

Hatherleigh market is a vital part of the town both for the immediate community, tourism, and local business. It is the heart and soul of the town. The livestock market is one of few remaining. It's loss would be hugely detrimental.

my family and I love to go to hatherleigh market even though we live 20 miles away, if this closes what a loss to the community and surrounding businesses, please please keep this wonderful market and its lovely atmosphere.

To lose Hatherleigh Market would be a great blow to the local community and to the revenue of local businesses, just look how many cars are parked in the carpark on market days.

I am on the verge of buying a property in Hatherleigh, and as an outsider coming in, think that losing the market will be losing the essence of Hatherleigh, which would be heartbreaking.

Why does this site ask for dollar donations and why does it list my location as Shaftesbury??????????? I do not want to donate to a US company...... this may put people off voting if they don't know they don't have to and if my location is listed as Shaftesbury but I live in Hatherleigh then are "the powers that be" going to say "well nobody in Hatherleigh is voting"!!!!!!!! We are and I do not live in Shaftesbury....... I live in HATHERLEIGH!

The market closure would be a tragedy ! It's what brings people to the town ! Surely their must be some other space to build houses on ? I thought councillors were supposed to work on behalf of the community ?!!!!
