We the undersigned are worried by the threat that the greengrocer's shop (Les Ward) in the High Street in Histon will close. It provides excellent quality fresh produce, which increases the wellbeing of our community, and a level of service not offered by larger stores. It contributes to the vitality of the High Street and complements the other retail outlets including the two convenience stores thereby strengthening our High Street's broader commercial viability. We call upon the owners of the shop and their landlords to work together so that the future of the this business can be secured.

I have been spending my mornings chatting with folks who stop by the shop and it is clear how much this place means to everyone. Your stories about what Les Ward brings to our village are what keep me motivated to keep pushing for answers from the landlords.

We regularly buy our fruit and veg from Les Ward - beats the supermarkets hands down. Decent, local independent shops are the heart & soul of villages like Histon, I would be gutted to find it replaced with yet another pizza takeaway!!!
It's a complete shame if this shop goes a lot of elderly use this shop to buy single items I also hate having to buy big packs of things we need to keep this shop it's part of the village now
This store is a vital piece of independent trading here in Histon and Impington. Please enable them to stay by adopting an affordable rent for such a small trader to be able to afford.
This is my favourite shop in the village. Their range and quality of fruit and veg is fantastic. Their avocados are the best I've ever had. I have a friend who comes from Norfolk for them.
Les Ward is one of the reasons I was attracted to moving to Histon, it's an independent shop with great produce and great staff, offering a real alternative to clonesville shops.
So sad to see this shop closed. Their produce is much much nicer than the supermarkets'. A real shame.
I think I missed the boat on this one. I had no idea it was under threat of closing.

I use the green grocers weekly, I lived on the Whitehill estate before moving to Oakington. I would always use Less wards on Barwell Road, once we moved to Longstanton /Oakington I would shop during my weekly Wednesday family visit. Then Barwell shop closed, but was over the moon to find they moved to Histon.
