Hastings Borough Council has a duty to keep our streets clean, clear of litter, refuse and dog mess.
We the undersigned are calling on the council to do more to keep the streets of Hastings and St Leonards clean and tidy and within a timely manner, in accordance with the Litter Code of Practice under the Environmental Protection Act 1990.
Whether it is communal bins, persistent fly-tipping or dog mess issues - the council must act now and urgently. Working closer with our waste partners to ensure household refuse that is collected is done so properly, on time and regularly, alongside pushing for improvements within the street cleaning team.
Residents huge part of problem. Collections good. Bins themselves never seem to me washed out getting smellier and smellier and more and more stained. Inner bins that came originally now seem to be 10 year old bins etc. Rear has disappeared outside 12 Carisbrooke and has not been replaced in months.
