Hello Everyone,

I am from ICV2E and I had the honour to learn about various fields of communication from two excellent teachers. Two teachers that are committed, dedicated and always willing to help us out in difficult situations.

On top of that, both teachers have actual knowledge and experience about the professional world out there and can teach us way beyond the theory…

You might have guessed it already: I am talking about Rob Vogel and Geerte Frenken.

Two amazing teachers that were asked to leave Hanze due to expiring contracts.

In my opinion, that’s a shame! Even quite hard to understand since the two of them are excellent teachers that have much more to offer than assessing reports.

Teachers that share their experiences with us, guide many of us through projects, exam preparations, tools portfolios and many other issues on the side - are the ones preparing us for the real world. Both Rob and Geerte motivate, challenge and teach us at Hanze.

We do not want them to leave!

The goal of this petition is to stimulate Hanze to reconsider their decision of letting

Rob and Geerte go.

We, as communication students in 2016, but also all future communication students, want to benefit from working with these engaged teachers - to be guided by their experience, knowledge, skills and passion for the profession.

If you, as a student or teacher, agree that Rob and Geerte should stay, please leave your signature!

I have requested a formal meeting with the department leadership to discuss these contract non-renewals. I am currently compiling a report of the feedback provided here to present as evidence of the value these instructors bring to our program.

Letting go of Geerte would decrease the quality of the IC programme and crush my faith in Hanze as an educational institution.

Both teachers guided their students to their very best. They always gave all the help people asked for. Information on slides, extra notes, personally showing how software works, etc... They are both incredibly valuable.

Both, Rob and Geerte, were or still are my project coaches, tools teacher, lecturer or seminar teacher and I could benefit from that a lot. Not only did they provide me with a lot of knowledge, but both are extremely kind, helpful and above all caring people. It truly would be a loss for the students if they would no longer teach at the Hanze anymre.

I believe that these two teachers were the ones that put effort in their work compared to other teachers that I have had to work with. I believe that they should stay!

I don't want them to leave and they are the greatest teacher. I have learned a lot of things from them.

If I was asked who, in my opinion, was the most committed teacher in my studies, I would definitely say it was Rob Vogel. His desire to share real-life experience with students is truly inspirational. He has always been open for feedback and students' offers. Rob Vogel is the LAST teacher that Hanze could ask to leave. Geerte is a professional and she definitely knows what she is doing and what students have to know. Hanze could barely find a teacher that will be as skilled in the field, as Geerte is. Hanze cannot ask to leave those teachers, who ACTUALLY have something to bring to the minds of students.
