Recycling is imperative to keeping our community, our country and our earth clean. It is good for the environment, good for our community and reduces pollution.When more people recycle so that we can reuse materials, we are helping to conserve our earth. It takes less energy to create products from reused materials than it takes to create products from raw materials. However, people are less willing to participate in a recycling program if they have to drive somewhere to drop off the materials. If Hampton were to have a curbside recycling pick-up program in place, morecitizens would participate. We could easily implement this program with a minimal cost tocitizens of Hampton. It would onlytake about a $4/month increase on utilities to fund this program.
