We, the undersigned, are concerned about the derelict state of the Halfway in Bontddu. We request that the owners of the hotel inform local residents of their plans for the building

Though I do not live there any more I still have family that do and I believe we need to keep as much of our history standing and in use in order not to forget who we are where we are from and our past and to take it into our future
Makes me very sad to see this unloved building every time I pass it. This could be such an asset to the community if reopened. There are many community owned pubs that offer services such as groceries, post office, collection & delivery point, community hub for recreational clubs and classes etc.
Since we moved to the area 3 years ago we have been hoping the Halfway would be renovated & reopened as a pub & hotel. It’s a very popular area all year around & there are many successful businesses around here. Such a shame to see this historic building rot
i’m a visitor to the area and remember this place as a warm and welcoming pub/restaurant. It should be restored to be the heart of the village or at least have its future made clear to local residents. It’s unfair on them to leave it in such disrepair
Definitely needs looking into. Was a village pub and should remain so. Make sure thete are no loopholes for the owners to be granted change of use and convert it to another holiday home.
Such a shame, used to be a thriving business now a real eyesore

Gastro pubs are hugely popular, and this is such a notable place could easily attract the crowds that The Cross Foxes does. There's nothing else around unless you're in either town. Additionally, if there were room, wouldn't it be useful to have a little local shop of sorts, to save people the trek to Barmouth/Dolgellau, also serving coffee and a social hub?
