This is a plea from all goodreaders on your wonderful site. Please, grant us the benefit of having half stars.
Sometimes a book is more than just one, two, three, four or five stars. We use half stars in our reviews anyway, so why not spare us the trouble and just give us the ratings?
We can assure you that we won't stop rating the books just because there are "too many options". In fact, it'll actually give us some more motivation to rate all the unrated books that we can't rate in the generic five option way.
Many supporters of Goodreads who regularly provide reviews have noted that this feature is not available. This option would give the author and potential readers a better feel for how readers felt about the book.
Out of the millions of status updates and rants about this topic, we hope that you'll take this petition to heart, and provide us with what we've been wanting for ages.

Goodreads continues to ignore the basic improvements their own users have been begging for for years. Their silence on this issue proves they do not care about the quality of the data on their site or the experience of the people who actually use it.

Some books are in between "I liked it" and "I really liked it" so this would be great.
The biggest struggle is rating 3s. Often times it is painful to finish a solid three, but just as often it way too easy to finish a solid 3. How do I differentiate?
Please give book reviewers the option of half stars to better represent our rating for books. It inaccurately effects a book rating if you are forced to bump up or down your rating inorder to adhere to your rating guidelines.
Please! Half-stars are literally the only thing left I, as well and everyone on GR, needs in order to make their reviews fairer and more polished.
This is totally necessary, and there's a precedent for half stars on other reviewing sites.
