My name is Monica Stolz and I live in Lathrop,Ca. My daughter Hailey Stolz passed away at a Licensed Daycare Provider\'s home on August 22, 2006. My daughter was only 3 months and 24 days old. Not able to hold her own head up at this very young age, the provider laid my baby on her stomach for a nap and shut the door behind her. She had no baby monitor in her room and laid her down with her blanket down under her. I found my baby girl lifeless when I returned from a job interview only gone an hour and half, and went into the room to get her. She was laying face down with her arms up on the side her little head. There was 3 adults in this home at the time, and nobody even tried to feed her a bottle. She cried, they gave her bottle to her with only water in it,she didn\'t like it,(I don\'t know about you, but when I am hungry I would rather have food then water), so she was put in a room alone to go to sleep!Before leaving my Hailey, I even asked the daycare provider not to lay her on her stomach when she is sleeping. Being that the provider was a family friend, I was hoping she would treat Hailey as her own. The autopsy came back Interstitial Pneumonitis. I did not believe that, because Hailey was not at all sick, so I told the Pathologist this and they quickly came back with SIDS. I am in the process of getting a 2nd opinion from a Pathologist in L.A. at this time, because I believe my baby girl suffocated. My goal is to pass a law in my daughters name for there to be a regulation for Licensed Daycare Providers not to be able to lay infants on their stomach\'s at no time while not being supervised. This provider & all other providers in California are educated from the California Dept. of Social Services Community Care Licensing Division, not to put infants on their stomachs for sleep time due to the increase of SIDS. This provider knew better and even stated in the Police Report that she has been doing daycare for 15yrs and has put infants on their stomachs plenty of times. Well, my daughter, Hailey, was not one of the lucky ones to survive. Please help me get this Initiative going to pass this law to help all the baby\'s out there be safe.
