At Metamora Township High School we have a vast diversity of sexualities, Yet we do not have a Gsa. Now what is a Gsa? A Gay-Straight Alliance (GSA) is a student-run club, typically in a high school or middle school, which provides a safe place for students to meet, support each other, talk about issues related to sexual orientation and gender identity and expression, and work to end homophobia and transphobia. GSA clubs are powerful tools that can transform schools – making them safer and more welcoming for LGBTQ youth, youth with LGBTQ parents, and straight allies. GSA Network helps GSA clubs become activist clubs that can educate teachers and students to improve the school climate. GSA Network teaches GSA clubs how to work with the school administration to implement school policies that prevent harassment and violence. Lets show Mths how much we need this!

As a straight man who has seen the damage that has come from ignorance in youth I firmly believe that this is a needed group both as a safe haven and an educational area.

Every kid deserves to feel safe walking through those halls. MTHS really needs this club already.
