A GSA (Gay-Straight Alliance) is a club/after school activity that would be A, a safe space for LGBTQ students, B, a place where people can learn about the history of LGBTQ rights and other civil rights, and C, a space where students can have fun while learning. Think of it as an equality club!

We would have a list of learning things throughout the GSA meetings. Such as, but not limited to,

• Discussing coming out to family and friends.
• Discussing suicide prevention and pass out hotline numbers.
• Having an LGBTQ+ movie night!
• Making GSA shirts.
• Planning an LGBTQ+ Dance (Anyone can come!)
• Starting an LGBTQ+ book club.
• Asking the librarian to put LGBT books in the library.
• Teaching educative staff on LGBTQ issues and stopping slurs with educational videos or examples.
• Passing out rainbow cupcakes and Learn about the history of Pride Month on the Wednesday before National Coming Out Day.
• Hosting a board game night.
• Volunteering together at a food pantry or charity
• Taking a self-defense class as a club
• Learning about the equal rights movement
• Learning about famous LGBT/ Revoloutionary black activists
• Learn about the black lives matter movement
• AND MUCH MORE.....

* note This club will not try to change your child's political views, seuxality, sexual orientation, or gender identity. This club is meant to educate young people about the problems and history of the civil rights movement, LGBTQ events, and other important times/events in history.
