The administration finally caved and confirmed they are holding our in-person commencement. It is a damn shame it took this much pressure to get them to recognize our work, but we forced their hand. We won this fight.

Please sign this petition to convince our administration to host COVID-compliant, in-person graduation this winter at TLU. After our hard work, we deserve some recognition!

We have many options. We could split the graduating class into groups of 10 or 20, hold the ceremony outside, wear masks, and remain at least six feet apart. Even if outside guests are unable to attend, students should have the opportunity to walk the stage after all the time and money we spent at TLU.

The TLU administration is ignoring our emails so we need to hit 500 signatures to force them to pay attention. Send this link to your classmates right now because we refuse to let them cancel our graduation without a fight.

Why deprive hardworking students of this? They literally meet in person? And everyone goes to grocery stores. It’s not mandatory. If people don’t feel it’s safe they wouldn’t have to attend. 10/10 they deserve a graduation. So did I.

As a 2019 TLU grad I can say that walking the stage was the single most important event to me. Don't take that away from these select few students. It's a milestone in your life that can't be replaced virtually.

I am a parent of a TLU Nursing Student and am very proud of her achievements. She is my first child graduating from a university. This is a historic event for our family. Please do an in person graduation that is safe and respectful of their hard work.

If High Schools had proper graduations in May, when Covid was rampant, there is no excuse not to have it now. If this was a major university like TxSt, then it would be understandable. Given TLUs small numbers, there's no excuse not to allow these students to have a proper graduation!

If it’s safe enough for us to go for clinicals and care for the sick, it is safe enough for us to wear a mask, stay 6 feet away from each other, be outdoor, and walk the stage after surviving the most difficult 2 years of our lives.

I support my daughter & her fellow classmates in asking to be formally recognized in some form of in-person ceremony. I believe if just a little creativity, effort and careful consideration was given to this situation, it can be done with dignity.

Please consider! This is the only opportunity these deserving graduates have to walk the stage! Thank you!
