Governor McAuliffe --
Gerrymandering is killing Democracy in Virginia.
Virginia needs commonsense legislative reform to fix this problem. Unfortunately, the Virginia House of Delegates subcommittee has been unwilling to address this problem, despite multiple bipartisan efforts to have redistricting reform legislation heard by both the Senate and the House.
Please call a special session of the legislature and send down redistricting legislation that will establish an independent, nonpartisan commission to create fair districts that will ensure representational democracy in Virginia.
Please do this so all members of both the House and Senate will have a recorded vote on gerrymandering. Virginians need to know where their representatives stand on this issue before they vote for all 100 members of the House of Delegates in November 2017.
Thank You!

I started this because I was frustrated but I never imagined 2,500 people would join in. This momentum belongs entirely to you and your willingness to speak up for fairness in our state.

I am honestly overwhelmed by how many of you have joined this effort to fix our districts. We are almost at one hundred people standing up for fair representation and I truly believe that momentum belongs to you. Please keep pushing so we can show the Governor that this is a priority for all of us.

It's so important to the future of our democracy that citizens choose their representatives in competitive elections. Gerrymandering dilutes citizens' rights to fair representation and promotes candidates that have to appeal to a small minority.
We have needed this for a long time. Those of you in the Va Gen Assembly need to remember. We will do our research and we will know how you vote and deal with this matter. And 2018 is just around the corner. We will vote you out of office! We are awake and watching you.
We need redistricting based on numbers of people without consideration of party affiliation income, race or any other demographic. Boundries should be drawn to be as compact as possible taking into consideration only natural and neighborhood boundries.
The practice of creating "safe" districts has greatly contributed to the polarization we see in the House of Representatives today. If we could restore competitive districts again I believe it would help give the center a voice again.
Gerrymandering has eliminated government of the people, by the people, and for the people in Virginia. The people need a voice in government, and until we enact redistricting reform that eliminates the use of predictive software, we will have no voice.
McAuliffe failed Charlottesville, should have been protected by National Guard from the start!
This would be the first step in ending the practice of politicians picking their voters. Voters should pick their representatives.

Surely you know that gerrymandering is the primary obstacle in turning the tide of political obstructionism. Use your power and influence to make a difference if you value your legacy and potential future aspirations as a Democrat.
