Maryland’s 1st Congressional District is OUR DISTRICT, and it is the only seat that represents 47% of the state’s registered voters who are NOT registered Democrat. District 1 is a continuous, rural and coastal district shaped by farmlands and Chesapeake Bay communities. We are not disenfranchised—we are represented by a representative we knowingly and deliberately elected.
Yet Governor Wes Moore is now pushing a rushed, mid-cycle redistricting plan under false and conflicting pretenses. In one breath, he claims this is about fairness and inclusion; in another, he openly admits the goal is to “use Maryland voters” to counter a DEMOCRATICALLY elected Congress he disagrees with. That is not representation—it is manipulation.
Mid-cycle gerrymandering weaponizes voters instead of respecting them and we find this an assault on our very God given Rights.
We reject any attempt to split, dilute, or dismantle Maryland’s 1st Congressional District to serve one man's national political ambitions. We call on all Marylanders, regardless of party, to stand against this power grab and defend fair, honest representation.

Carroll County got screwed the last time the Dems gerrymandered! Now, they’re doing it again, even worse! Damn the Democrats for silencing our voices!
As a former district 1 voter who was gerrymandered out and into a district that doesn't represent my values at all, I'm adamantly opposed to having the last voice of the 40% of MD Republicans extinguished for political advantage by the opposing party. It's abhorrent!
Non partisan district maps that are actually geographically logical are the only moral or logical way, anything else is cheating.
It’s our right to have representation !! The committee is all democrats and no republicans! How is that fair to the people ?
I believe it was close to 37% of people that voted for President Trump & the Democrats are trying to take our votes away. They already took the vote away from western Maryland when they gerrymandered years ago to include Democratic county Montgomery to western Maryland. We deserve at least 2 representatives if done fairly.
Stop this guy!!
Please stop this bill from passing. This governor has trashed our state and will continue to do so if we don’t stop them.
