Final supporters
Google has worked hard to create their email client’s new look, but there is a problem with how it treats signatures. Whereas we can adjust to new button placements, altering the initial view of our messages is unacceptable.
Formerly, Google allowed recipients to see an untrimmed view of each new email’s content; now they must click “…” at the bottom of each message. This petition asks that Google revert to the former way as the default and only make signature-trimming optional.
We believe our signatures are important and for ease of reading we desire that Google not hide them from us or Google users who receive our emails. We take responsibility for crafting the end of our emails to maintain readability and proper focus. If Google does not correct this issue we will consider using a different email provider and will warn any potential adopters of Google Apps of its signature censorship. Give us back our signatures!

The silence from Google remains deafening, but we are keeping the pressure on them. Send a direct message to their official support account on X and demand a toggle for these hidden signatures. Do not let them sweep our concerns under the rug.

It's bad enough my signature (which happens to include both contact info & job titles) almost never can be seen without clicking "...", but it becomes ridiculous when the receiver asks for my contact info and I have to explain how to use the Trimmed Content function in Gmail!
this trimming is not limited to signature. It even trims the text of email which is so frustrating and sometimes cause miscommunication. Users should be able to disable this function.
Hate the trimming feature so much! Almost lost credit on a University assignment because of an email that was half cut off by this feature and my professor didn't see the rest!
Can this seriously still be happening?! Gmail, I use you for my business. How unprofessional do I seem when it looks like I haven't taken the time to type my name to clients.
I see more than one year is passed after creating this petition. And I am still facing the trimming issue. Possibly Google is thinking that the user have become used to it. Well, I didn't. I am now considering to shift to other services (yahoo, hotmail) for my formal emails.
Rigging searches to favor one position and restrict others betrays a lack of confidence in the view so artificially favored. If facts and logic support the heliocentric model of the solar system, flat earth writings are no threat to the functioning of NASA. To Google management I say that those who hung witches in Salem, used the Spanish Inquisition to enforce conformity, participated in McCarthy-era blacklisting thought they were doing good which we - and even partipants - now consider wrong. Don't join this list.

Signature censorship is destructive for anyone who uses your mail platform for freelance business, people wont bother to look at my contact information if you keep trimming it! Stop trimming!!!!!
