Final supporters
We urge the Borrego Water District to immediately return the Rams Hill Golf Course's right to drill for water on its land.
Everyone in Borrego has the right to drill for water on their land, but in 2009 the Rams Hill golf course's right was taken away when the BWD bought the course's well from the previous owner, who shortly thereafter closed the course. Without its biggest customer water rates have doubled.
We urge the BWD to immediately meet and vote to return the course's right to drill. If they do, the course will reopen in November. If the BWD delays until their next meeting in mid-September, the golf course will not be able to reopen until November 2014. Only three of the five BWD board members must be present to vote.
Any delay will further damage Borrego's economy, which has suffered enough. Everyone benefits if this exceptional Fazio public golf course reopens this fall, and the golf course has been redesigned so that it requires less than half the water previously used.
Any delay will cost jobs and hurt everyone in Borrego.

Rams Hill is part of what makes Borrego special. stop choking the businesses out of town.
Ridiculous that they sold it just to hike up rates on residents. enough is enough.
Totally unfair. property owners should be allowed to access their own water. fix this mess.
this is killing our local economy. keep the course green and let them use the well.
BWD needs to quit playing games with people's livelihoods. let them drill!

my water bill is crazy high. let them drill so the rates go back down to normal.
