The tax paying citizens of Liberty Village and Fort York should not have to have 100% of Garrison Common, Fort York, and the Bentway taken away from them 100% of the time for 3 months. This petition demands that the city:
1. Coordinates a regular schedule early morning and during morning and evening rush hour for community pass-through of these areas.
2. That the southernmost fence along the sidewalk on Fort York Boulevard, be repositioned to the north Bents on the Bentway, giving access to the Bentway skate path and access to Strachan Avenue..
3. That fences are removed from the eastern most section of the Bentway under the Gardiner, except the areas to store heavy equipment.

We have to walk over 2km out of our way to do life things like go yo work, get groceries etc. it’s a key main walk way and we already put up with so much each year. Mercy. This is insane it’s out of commission for so long. We put up with a lot over here regardless of knowing “where we live”. Bentway came after many of us were here. Also it will cost people money too on transit or uber. So many problematic things. And just friggen sprang on us.
Even the bikes at the bike share station have been moved. I use those for work commute!
We at minimum need a path to walk from Fort York Blvd, through Garrison Commons and over the bridge. It is the safest place to let our kids bike, scooter, walk, etc. We live, work and play here and it should not be 100% blocked off. Festivals have always ensured a path through, and FIFA should be no exception.
No noticed. Out of the blue, with a few months of nice weather. The city its not prepare for mayor events.
This is a very inconvenient and not very well thought through decision from a logistics standpoint, as it funnels large crowdss of people onto the narrow Bathurst and Strachan sidewalks.

It's a massive disruption and a major inconvenience and people living near the site are getting nothing out of it.
