This petition is written in hopes to have a memorial Stone Placed at Bethune Point Skatepark in Daytona Beach ,Fl for the late Giovanni Gonzalez. Also with the placement of this memorial do we recognize his birthday as a holiday in Daytona Beach, Florida as "Giovanni Gonzalez Go Skate Day."
On this day we ask that skateboarders be free to skate throughout the city without the fear of harassment or fine. This will include a prayer service at Jericho Skatepark , followed by a parade of skateboarders from Jericho Skatepark down Ridgewood Ave. ,turning right on Bellevue, ending at Bethune Point Skatepark.
The words on the memorial stone will be chosen by Jackie Harris, John Holleman , and anyone else they choose who have words of encouragement to uplift Gio's memory properly.
There may be modifications to this petition in the future, though this has been written to insure that an amazing talented person is never forgotten.

I have been spending my evenings talking with Gio's friends and family about the exact spot for the memorial stone. Seeing how much his memory still lights up this community keeps me focused on getting this done for him.

gio was the nicest guy i ever met always had a smile for everyone. this is a great idea lets make sure hes remembered forever he deserved that much at least
