The new Howard county phone policy is overkill and too much, having your phone, headphones, or any personal device taken away from you from for even having it out during school hours is too much. High schoolers already have enough on their plate with jobs, extracurriculars and other activities. This new policy should not happen and it’s wack, sign this petition so we can get them to get rid of this dumb ass phone policy

Updates

February 26, 2025

The administration can no longer ignore the scale of this opposition. My next step is to coordinate a formal meeting with the school board to present these concerns directly.

this is so unnecessary. we are basically adults who have stuff to do like jobs after school, let us keep our phones.

my parents want me to have my phone on me for safety and this just makes everything harder for everyone honestly.

it makes no sense to take our stuff if we arent even using it in class. just keep it in our bags.

Overall not a bad idea, just one step too far with lunch, I don’t really see the point with that part
