I have been reading your messages about how disconnected you feel from your families during the school day. These stories confirm my belief that this policy does more harm than good for our peace of mind.

Seeing this much momentum reminds me exactly why I started fighting for my younger brother and his classmates. It feels incredible to know so many of you believe that students deserve better than these restrictive policies.

I strongly disagree with this decision. Phones and technology in general are becoming more essential for day to day life - restriction of devices makes life harder for all students in school. As a student with braces, I often need to communicate with my parents during school hours to confirm appointments and the same can be said for other students with similar problems. Should you restrict phone usage, miscommunication becomes a larger worry, no matter how organised you are.
This policy is not a good idea for a number of reasons. I am not going to go through them all now but if you want to go down the logic route with me, feel free! And also if I need to check my timetable on my phone, I'm not going to go and find a member of staff! I am an independent person!
Our phones are important to life in and out of school as long as were not using them during class I don't see the problem.
I along with many other students understand that our phones are irrelevant in our lessons that they shouldn't be used or seen as a distraction, however our lunchtime and breaktimes is our spare time the time we have to sit back and relax in what ever way we choose. As you have admitted through the use of laptops and iPads it is an essential part of the new times in this day and age where technology is taking over. Thank you for you time and I hope you can see that we aren't asking much.
It's impractical as we use our phones to communicate with our parents/ guardians. Without phones it's extremely difficult to ask your parent to top your finger up, or for then to let their children know when they are outside or a change of plans.
This policy is bollocks.

I think we should be allowed our phones because if we have to meet our parents do appointments during school we need a phone to call them. Also at break when there's nothing to do our phones give us something to do
