Ingrid Sigfridsson, freelance journalist and teacher, has shown remarkable courage when she confronted an editor who donated money to a racist party. She decided to stop taking orders from this magazine, even though it meant taking risks in her career and on a personal level.
Ingrid is a humble woman who does not want to admit that she did something remarkable, but we, her colleagues can only say that if everyone had Ingrid's courage and drive to highlight the evils of racism and simple-mindedness, the world would be a much better place.
Therefore we want to nominate her to the Courage of the Year at the Swedish Civil Rights Awards 2014.
