Two Swedish journalists, Johan Persson and Martin Schibbye have been falsely accused of terrorism in Ethiopia. Freedom of press is the most important tool against injustice in the world. The Swedish government needs to act now! We, the undersigned, demand by the Swedish government to openly show their support for the important job that freelance journalists, such as Johan Persson and Martin Schibbye, are conducting. The government must take their responsibility and act in favour of their civil rights as investigating journalists. Our demands are as follows:

1) For the Swedish government to give this matter highest political priority.

2) Swedish prime minister Fredrik Reinfeldt and minister of foreign affairs Carl Bildt must publicly support Johan and Martin.

3) The Swedish Government must bring the matter to an international level.

The list of names in the petition will be sent to Carl Bildt, the Swedish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Swedish Government

I have been spending my nights reading the messages you leave here and they confirm that we are fighting for the right things. The silence from the ministry is deafening but we are currently preparing a formal delivery of your names to push them into the light.

Johan and Martin are still sitting in that cell while we wait for justice. We are nearing a thousand names now so please send this link to everyone you know to keep this momentum going until the government finally listens.

Free them now! They are just doing their jobs. Journalists should never be locked up for reporting the truth.

This is totally unacceptable. Ethiopia needs to stop this and our government needs to step up and actually do something for once.
