Mather skatepark is an awesome skatepark! It alows people of all ages to come to a nice clean environment and be themselves and have fun! Unfortunately the park gets dark very quickly, especially during these winter months. There are small lamps surrounding the skatepark, but they aren't bright at all. So please spread the word, and get people to sign this petition!!!

Would really be appreciated, helps the kids stay out of trouble so they could be at the park later and helps them practice that craft and can potentially make it a career. Plenty of pros coming out of Sacramento specially Mather it’d be in everyone’s best interest for better lighting.
I've been saying this for years. It's a safety hazard to skaters and I have personally hurt myself because I couldn't see my board
Better lighting would really help in terms of risk management. People are always going to try to skate when it gets dark as it is, but with dim lighting this leaves increased room for injury as well as the personal safety of people in the general area.
Even just turning 1 of the baseball stadium lights towards the skatepark would make a tremendous difference! Quit wasting energy on all those crappy dim lamps and turn them into two big lights on each side of the skatepark!
Having lights on later would bring more drink purchases to the rec center nearby and give skateboarders, BMXers and scooter riders alike a safe environment to be active at night. Not to mention Power Inn has the only park in Sacramento with sufficient light.

I think this is very necessary that we get better lights at Mather skate park it is completely unfair that the park supports the baseball field and soccer field with lights so they can practice. Sacramento skateboarding NEEDS THIS.
