It’s time to stand up and speak out…
The Frankfort Square Park District has failed with the upkeep and recreational hours of Union Creek Skate Park (Frankfort/Tinley Park, IL). By signing this petition, you are showing your support for allowance of the park hours to be dawn-dusk daily as well as for the park district to provide regular maintenance on the park. Right now the park is only open from 3pm-5pm during the week and 8am-5pm Saturday - Sunday. Other parks in the area, both skate parks and playground parks, are open dawn-dusk. The ramps at Union Creek Skate Park are in desperate need of repair. At this point, it’s become a danger to skateboarders getting their wheels caught in the holes of the ramps. This park should be treated like any other park run by Frankfort Square, meaning it should require the same maintenance and hours of operation as other parks in the area. It’s not right that skateboarders and bikers get treated any different. Anyone that has been to this park recently will tell you that the park district clearly spent more time and money on the fencing to keep people out than they did on the inside to keep people safe. It’s time to stand up and speak out… and most importantly save Union Creek Skate Park.

This park was my childhood. So many memories and friends made there. I hate to see it not being taken care of.
This was part of my childhood. I had the best times here. I met so many people here. I would be sad to see this place to be taken down.
keep park open and repair what is needed. Kids are the future. Don't neglect their desire to have fun
ita a shame that the skatepark has so much damage too, and it's completely unfair that the park district puts more money into maintaining ever other aspect of the park besides the skatepark
The skate park is the only thing left that makes a lot of people happy. Start making it available for longer hours and start taking care of it. Believe it or not, it is part of the Park District and the park district should want to take care of their skate park.
why take away something people enjoy.

3 to 5 is ridiculous. most people are still at school or work then. let us ride until it gets dark at least.
