The schools in North Ogden need more diversity and inclusion. With such a high youth suicide rate, creating safe spaces for students to express themselves should be a top priority.
I wish that there had been something like this when I was in Jr High and High school. It's not easy growing up LGBTQ+ in Utah
This should be aloud. It's not acceptable to have to protest to get a support group.
Please put first and last name. If you're trans or have a different preferred name put that, but please use real names. They won't take us seriously if we don't.
As a parent and journalist, I hope students who feel like they are being attacked or maligned for their sexual orientation or gender identity, realize they have a lot of power. Don't be afraid to reach out to district officials or to the gay straight alliance of Utah. I know that I will be. I'm so proud of any student who is willing to stand up for what is right. School districts and administration need to take things like this seriously particularly with the Department of Justice now investigating Davis School District

Youth suicides are dramatically decreased when they are given the opportunity to express their identity authentically. These groups in school save lives.
