AS WE ALL KNOW ABOUT THE PROCEDURE OF ADMISSION OF IGIPESS , BUT THIS TIME AUTHORITIES MADE SOME AMENDMENTS IN THE PROCEDURE DUE TO THE COVID-19 . THE AMENDMENTS ARE NOT AT ALL JUSTIFIABLE AS IT HAS MANY REPERCUSSION FOR THE STUDENTS . THE AMENDMENTS MADE THE ADMISSION PROCEDURE AMBIGUOUS .
CONSEQUENCES OF THE AMENDMENTS:
PREVIOUSLY ,PHYSICAL ABILITY TEST WAS ALSO INCLUDED IN THE PROCEDURE , SO CANDIDATES HAVE THE CHANCE TO SCORE THERE ,EVEN AFTER HE/SHE NOT ABLE TO PERFORM WELL IN THE ENTRANCE EXAM.
NOW IT IS ALL DEPENDS ON THE ENTRANCE AND THE SPORTS PROFICIENCY – 60% FOR ENTRANCE AND 40 % FOR CERTIFICATE ,THAT MAKES THE ADMISSION PROCEDURE INEQUITABLE FOR US .
THE CUT OFF FOR THE ADMISSIONS OF LAST YEAR WAS AROUND – 55-57/100,SO OUR QUESTION IS :HOW A CANDIDATE WHO DOES NOT HAVE ANY CERTIFICATE OR HAVE ONE OF LOWER MARKS CAN GET ADMISSIONS ,EVEN THOUGH HE/SHE WORKED DELIGENTLY FOR GETTING ADMISSIONS . BUT NOW THEY HAVE A LITTLE HOPE OR I CAN SAY THAT NO HOPE THAT THEY WILL ABLE TO GET ADMISSION .
ADMISSIONS ARE TOTALLY BASED UPON RESERVATION SYSTEM ,SO NOW MY QUESTION IS -HOW A GENERAL CATEGORY CANDIDATE WITHOUT THE SPORTS CERTIFICATE CAN GET THE ADMISSIONS BECAUSE THIS TIME PHYSICAL ABILITY TEST WILL NOT BE CONDUCTED BY THE INSTITUTE, SO THAT HE/SHE CAN IMPROVE HIS/HER TOTAL MARKS ,AND THE CUT OFF WILL BE AROUND 55-60,EVEN THE CANDIDATE WHO DOES HAVE ANY CERTIFICATE BUT STILL SCORES AROUND 60-70 % IN THE ENTRANCE CAN’T ABLE TO GET THE ADMISSIONS.
ANOTHER PROBLEM FOR GENERAL CATEGORY STUDENTS IS THAT , IF THE OBC CANDIDATE WILL GET HIGHER MARKS IN THE ENTRANCE THEY TAKE AWAY THE SEATS OF GENERAL CATEGORY STUDENTS.
IT IS RESILIENT TO GET 80-90% MARKS IN THE ENTRANCE SO THAT THE CANDIDATE CAN GET ADMISSIONS IN THE INSTITUTE.WITHOUT THE CERTIFICATE OR HAVE LOW MARKS IN CERTIFICATE.
AND ALSO THE AMENDMENTS PROVE UNFAVORABLE FOR THE CANDIDATES WHO NEVER EVER PARTICIPATED IN ANY SPORTS BUT WANT TO PURSUE COURSES FROM THIS INSTITUTE.SO AUTHORITIES HAVE TO TAKE ALL ABOVE POINTS INTO CONSIDERATION AND TAKE AN EARLIEST ACTION.
SO . NOW OUR CONCERN IS AUTHORITIES HAVE TO MADE ANOTHER AMENDMENT WHICH INCLUDES:
AS THEY CANNOT CONDUCT PHYSICAL ABILITY TEST ,BUT THAT 20 MARKS SHOULD BE ADDED IN THE ENTRANCE EXAM ,NOT IN THE SPORTS PROFICIENCY TEST,BECAUSE AROUND 50-60% OF CANDIDATES DO NOT HAVE CERTIFICATE ,BECAUSE NOT EVERY CANDIDATE WHO WANT TO GET ADMISSIONS PARTICIPATED OR GET POSITION IN SPORTS DUE TO THEIR OWN REASONS .
IF THE AUTHORITIES DO NOT WANT TO MAKE CHANGE THAT IS MENTIONED ABOVE ,SO OUR RESQUEST IS THAT GIVE 75% WEIGHTAGE TO THE ENTRANCE EXAM AND 25% TO THE SPORTS PROFICIENCY TEST ,SO THAT THE PROCEDURE CAN MAKE JUSTICE TO EVERY CANDIDATE WHO HAS BEEN WORKING METICULOUSLY AND HAVE THE DREAM OF PURSUING BSC,B.P.ED AND M.P.ED FROM INDIRA GANDHI INSTITUTE OF PHYSICAL EDUCATION AND SPORTS SCIENCES.

The IGIPESS administration clearly thought they could just push these pathetic amendments through without anyone noticing the damage they are doing to our futures. This surge of support shows them that we are not going to roll over while they make this entire process an inequitable mess. They messed with the wrong group of students and they need to see that we are ready to fight back until they fix this.

This is not the correct way to cope up with problems..... The college administration is simply ignoring their duty of conducting fair admissions, which will gonna ruin careers of many students bt they don't care about it
It's is not good for athletes as students from other private universities and all Will be having all India university certificate as they directly go there without trail
This is a wrong way of DU considering the whole 20 marks for certificates. Bifurcation of marks is important since equal weightage shall be given to written and physical .
This is not fair , please increase the Weightege of entrance exam. Because we are become h physical education teacher not sports player. So we don't have h sports achievement certificate of different levels. Thank you
