Honorable Donetta W. Ambrose :
Dequilla "Rae" Zellous' trial has been postponed until September which means it will be over 2 years since his arrest. When he realized that he was wanted by the authorities he immediately contaced them and turned hisself in.
It is our collective hope that Dequilla Rae Zellous will be given a bail and released on house arrest until the trial. Dequilla "Rae" Zellous has been a positive businessman, mentor, friend and family member in our community and is the father of a 6 year old son that misses him intensely.
We stand united in this request and appreciate you take this request into account and rule in our favor to allow Dequilla the opportunity to come home.
Seeing Rae's son ask when his father is coming home breaks my heart every single day. I have been spending my time preparing legal documentation to send to the court so they understand the man we all know instead of just the charges against him.
May 6, 2012
Seeing this kind of momentum brings tears to my eyes because it shows how many people recognize Rae as the man I know. Every person who joins this fight helps prove that his son deserves his father back home. We have a real path forward now.

He did the right thing by turning himself in. Why is he still sitting there? Give the man bail.

Two years is way too long to wait. Let the man go home to his kid.

Rae is a good person. He turned himself in and deserves a chance to be with his family while he waits for his day in court. This is just wrong.
