The Minnesota DNR is wanting to close the Fort Ridgely State Park Golf course on July 1, 2016. The Friends of Fort Ridgely were given a short notice. We are asking you to contact your legislature and ask them for their support in keeping this open. Please sign the petition to help keep the golf course open.

Please save this course. State parks aren't meant to make money, but to serve as vehicles for public enjoyment. My grandparents are buried at the cemetery at Fort Ridgely, so the park and all its amenities are important to me and my family.
Camped at Fort Ridgely for the first time last year. Really enjoyed the golf course, one of the best maintained I have played. Made reservations for July anticipating another great weekend of hiking and playing golf. Save the golf course.
It's hard to believe that just 8 years after the state invested $2,000,000 into upgrading this course they now want to invest more money into tearing it all down. A complete waste of our tax dollars. Save this golf course.
The Fort Ridgley golf course is an integral part of not only the state park, but also the Fairfax community and the sports teams of GFW schools. Taking that away will hinder growth to our young children as well as recreation for the old.
Used to work here when I was 14 and grew up just 2 miles away. I don't think the DNR is doing the full math on how many campers may be coming here to camp and golf so some of the $ from the camping fees may be reduced if the course is closed.
Please keep this beautiful and historic golf course open!!

By allowing carts on this golf course it could instantly be profitable. My father loved to golf at Fort Ridgely and had an annual pass. He couldn't golf there for the last 5-10 years of his life as he needed a cart to go golfing at the end.
