Please sign this petition do we have volontery veterinerys who have confirm they will come neuter al dogs at takis shelter if the MAYOR sign the CONTRACT we sent him from the organisation the veterinery work with.

Dear Mayor Theodosios Kalantzakis of Ireapetra..
We support Takis Shelter ,where are about 150 rescued dogs lives, rescued from the streets and other places of your town...Just thrown away like garbage, some halfdead and mostly with a life in horror behind them.. Those 150 dogs now live happy and safe at Takis shelter...The only way to reduce this stray problem is to NEUTER!!! And now I beg (need) for YOUR help... Can you please sign this contract to have the voluntairy veterinairy come to Takis shelter and neuter his dogs for free!! The money we help Takis to collect, barely is enough for food and medication to all dogs he have...

One hundred people have now put their name behind this request. It feels like a long road to get the Mayor to even acknowledge the contract, but seeing these names gives me some much needed fuel for the fight ahead.

The mayor remains silent despite the contract sitting on his desk. It is exhausting to watch these dogs wait for a simple signature while their needs grow every single day.

The days are long and the silence from the mayor is heavy. We are nearing one hundred signatures and I need you to push this a little further so they cannot ignore us anymore.

What reason could you have to not sign the contract but stubbornness .It does not look good on your island when tourists see the suffering of animals but they are giving good money to the economy of the island by spending in the hotels restaurants etc. DO your job and sign the petition !
A veterinary clinic in Kalives, near Chania, has been given permission by the Mayor of this area to allow foreign vets to neuter the stray dogs. It is a big success. Please copy his example and show compassion to the Greek animals. It does not cost you anything.
I have a home in Crete. I love Crete and the Greek people but I feel sick when I see such cruelty to some of the animals there. Please sign the papers so takis can get all his dogs neutered. This kind man, one of only a few unfortunately, and the dogs need your help and approval. Please please help him. Thank you.
Please support, sterilisation is the only way forward, and only with voluntary vets can any impact be made on the vast population of strays in Crete. Usual veterinary prices are unaffordable in these difficult times.

Takis needs and deserves help for all of the wonderful work he does for abused, abandoned and sick dogs.
Greece should embrace every effort to become a truly civilized country and should use every means to reach this goal! It is unacceptable that Greece is not allowing voluntary veterinary help to shelters like Takis, to help with neutering and spaying the abandoned animals for free! Stop the SHAME of Greece and help Takis and others who truly want to help to reduce the population of strays without cruelty and bloodshed! Greece, the world is watching you, don't act like a 3th world country, but show us true civilization!

My father was a proud Greek man The situation is irresponsible , irrational and almost unbelievable Step up and do what's necessary to make this happen give me a reason to remain a proud Greek woman
