This is the petition to request residential on-street permit parking on Forbes Ave.

The Loop's Block A and B are currently the only residences with their municipal address on Forbes Ave. Once 10 out of the 17 Forbes Ave addresses have signed, we can submit this petition and the city will then conduct an official poll where 50% plus one will be deciding factor. Please sign on behalf of your unit to get the process started (one signature per residence).

On-street permit parking will mean that we have access to street parking on Forbes Ave at all times (city restrictions may apply). The monthly fee is currently around $46 for those looking for parking for their second vehicle. If you currently do not own a second vehicle, this permit allows for that possibility in the future. More info on permits here.

From Toronto Municipal Code 925-4. Applicability:

A. The on-street permit parking program shall only apply to:

(1) Roads, local streets, collector and minor arterial roads, or parts of them, that are predominantly residential in character where sufficient off-street parking are not available and where the introduction of permit parking will not adversely affect roadway capacity, snow removal operations, or public safety;

(2) Other roads with permit parking as at the enactment of this chapter; and

(3) Other roads determined by the General Manager from time to time.

B. Where permit parking is not currently available and where a petition requesting permit parking signed by the residents of a minimum of 25 percent of the total number of residential premises having a residential address on the street or the flank of the street is submitted to the General Manager, a poll shall be conducted in accordance with Chapter 190, Polling and Notification, to determine if the residents wish to have permit parking on their road or area, as the case may be. In the event of a positive polling result, the General Manager shall report such result to the appropriate community council, which community council under delegated authority, shall be authorized to pass any necessary by-laws to implement permit parking on the road or area. In the event of a negative result, permit parking shall not be extended to the road or area, and no further permit parking poll shall be conducted for a period of two years.
