The sculptures are staying home. We received word that the donor heard our message loud and clear and has agreed to keep the collection right here on campus. Thank you for helping me protect the heart of our university.

\"In 1994, renowned collector Martin Z. Margulies fulfilled his desire to share his priceless collection of contemporary sculpture with the world at large and placed over 50 works throughout the 26 acres of the Florida International University campus. Sculptures from the Florida Art in State Buildings program and selected sculpture donations to Florida International University, join the Margulies Collection to create a wonderfully rich and important representation of modern sculpture. The park currently has over eighty (80) sculptures by internationally celebrated artists such as Willem de Kooning, Jean Dubuffet, Richard Serra, Louise Nevelson and Isamu Noguchi. The Martin Z. Margulies Sculpture Park is recognized as the largest and most important collection of sculpture on a university campus.\" The Martin Z. Margulies Sculpture Park website These art sculptures were a loan to the University and over the years they became part of the soul of our institution. In an attempt to save the sculptures, we, your Student Government, have launched a student signed petition. With your signatures, we will humbly ask the donor to continue to allow us to receive the benefits of this gift. FIU has become not just a sculpture ground, but a home to such amazing artifacts. Strictly for FIU students only. This petiton would be sent to the donor of most of the FIU art sculptures. Please use only your FIU email address, any other email would not be accepted. Also, in the comment section, put your Panther ID. Thank you for helping to save our Sculptures.

FIU just wont feel the same without them. i walk past these things everyday on my way to class and they actually make the campus look like a real university.
