We, the undersigned are requesting that the University of West Florida’s Board of Trustees and the University President preserve natural areas on the UWF campus by taking any action necessary to show that they disapprove of the proposed development in the Baars-Firestone Wildlife Sanctuary, to establish a legal boundary for the Baars-Firestone Wildlife Sanctuary and to establish a permanent ban on development in the entire sanctuary. im honestly so blown away by how much this has grown in just a few days. its clear that everyone cares about keeping the sanctuary wild and we are definitely getting the attention of the right people now.

'88 Alumni. My family and I have enjoyed the nature trails for many years and believe development in that area would be a disservice to students, faculty, and the community, not to mention the plants and wildlife.
I'm an alumni of UWF and it would be a shame to remove this preserve. The nature trails are wonderful and need to remain. The biology department uses the surrounds wildlife for teaching, as a biology graduate I feel this building will make the education less hands on. How best to learn biology by seeing g and touching it.
This area is extremely important to the hiking, running and cycling communities. Please don't ruin a natural resource that benefits the health and wellbeing of the University, the surrounding neighborhoods and the greater Pensacola area outdoors communities.
These two families are old Pensacola and loved nature and the outdoors. Let's honor them by protecting this local natural treasure.
I'm a UWF alum. My maiden name is Todd. I fought for protection of the Baars Firestone Wildlife Sanctuary when I was a student and am completely outraged that it is being threatened again. UWF needs to live up to its "green university" claim.

Being a green community not only shows social responsibility, it also sets a good precedent for the upcoming change in administration. We've banned smoking, in an effort to protect the well-being of our students, faculty, and staff. Why not protect all areas of our campus and our resources for future generations?
