We would like to see a true recess at the Fairhope Intermediate School. A recess where kids can use their break as a time of mental rest, physical activity, social interaction, snack and freedom within standard guidelines. The idea of zero movement and extreme limited interaction before school and during recess is creating ill will towards the school and is detrimental to the academic, social, and physical well being of the children. Recess of this nature is not practiced at any other Fairhope schools or private schools in this community. If you would like this policy changed at the Intermediate School then please add your name and pass this petition on to others.
