Nearly ever single news piece about licensed legal firearms shows AR15s and AK47s - semiautomatics that 99% of Australian shooters can't and will never own due to our gun laws. Its done purely to incite outrage - but it's typical of the misinformation our media pedals regularly.

Discrimination and defamation laws should be reviewed, to encompass the level of deliberate misinformation, bias, prejudice and bigotry that have been propagated against licensed shooters in this country over the last 30 years.

I have had enough of this vilification of law abiding firearm owners , as a hunter and competitive shooter for over 30 years I am getting sick of listening to the lies and misinformation spread by GCA and the media .

I believe that persistent efforts by by all state governments to further restrict law abiding firearm owners are ill informed and nothing more than sactioned discrimination. Sports shooting is a legitimate sport, culture and tradition. Its important that discussions around these elements are factual and well researched

In a battle to be the first in line to generate controversy and ensure clicks on their stories, journalists will publish the garbage uttered by GCA and the powerful anti guns lobby. They will even lend credence to fake professors with dodgy data.

There should be restrictions on news outlets so that misinformation is decreased.

Not only should the media be made to stick to the facts they should be held accountable for inaccuracies and misleading edited footage !!
