The NSW Liberal Government is proposing to allow the shooting of "feral" animals in at least 79 of the state's National Parks, to be carried out by recreational, amateur shooters.
The idea of allowing shooting in National Parks is disturbing, and this "backflip" by the NSW Government on an election promise will come at a large cost.
National Parks are a unique place, that not only allow citizens to enjoy a passive recreational experience, but are fundamental in managing vital and precious ecosystems.
A similar scheme, as proposed by the NSW Government, operating now in New Zealand has resulted in several deaths in recent years.

KEEP GUNS OUT OF PARKS. SIMPLE AS THAT. Dangerous for tourists and walkers.
Are they serious? Leave the parks for the animals and hikers. Keep guns out of our bushland it is just common sense.
BAD IDEA. We go to these parks to escape the noise and danger of the city not to worry about some bloke with a rifle wandering around.
Total madness. Who thought this was a good idea? Our national parks should be safe for everyone.
Cant believe this is even being discussed. National parks are meant for conservation not target practice for amateurs.

There is a level of consideration for all that makes Australia Australia. It should not be destroyed by a cynical manipulation of political power.
