This petition is a call for John Thompson III's dismissal from his current position as head Basketball coach at Georgetown University. His dismissal is needed due to his substandard coaching performance and the resulting lack of enthusiasm surrounding the program. John Thompson III's inability to have substantial post season success and develop a national championship contending program is not up to the standard that is expected of Georgetown's basketball program by the alumni and devoted fan base.

It's time for a coaching change. We haven't been to the sweet 16 for the past 9 years. That's the longest drought that I've seen since I became a Georgetown fan in the mid to late 1970's
Great local talent is squandered year after year by JT3. Terrible national recruiter for such a great school. I was a varsity athlete at Gtown. It is time the Thompsons step aside and allow this university to recruit a nationally acclaimed coach.
He should be fired He has had sufficient time to produce results money generated from BB funds the other sports A losing team cannot max profits needed for the other sports
This is a head coach who makes 3 million dollars per year. We are the 70th best team according to KenPom and ranked 8th in the Big East. This team has collapsed down the stretch once again. JT3 has failed to take his team to the second weekend of the tournament since 2007 and the program is the laughingstock of March.
JT3 has been coach 12 yrs. hes had ups and downs and, lately, - last 5 years - in particular - far more downs. its not just this season. We should expect far better results and cant settle for mediocrity. that's the business GU hoops is in now. Good guy or not doesn't matter. Results do

Patrick Ewing!! I like the move. He has been deserving of a head coaching job for a while now. He has been a long time assistant in the NBA and has been praised by everyone he worked for. Georgetown basketball will return to prominence. It might not happen overnight. Give Patrick a chance to put his system in place and get the players he wants. But within a few years, we'll be back.

Hate like hell to sign this, but the time has come. Letter was more than respectful. I've been a life time Hoya fan, and Thompson defender, but at the end of the day this is about Georgetown Basketball.
