Patrick Ewing!! I like the move. He has been deserving of a head coaching job for a while now. He has been a long time assistant in the NBA and has been praised by everyone he worked for. Georgetown basketball will return to prominence. It might not happen overnight. Give Patrick a chance to put his system in place and get the players he wants. But within a few years, we'll be back.

The old man needs to look at this objectively but he won't. His kid can't coach or recruit any longer. Evidence is the Waters decommit. It's over Jr., tell you kid to walk away with some dignity. Next year you're looking at 20 losses. Do it now and save the embarrassment. Time to man up Thompson family.

Get John Thompson the third out of there. He is abysmal and the team shows that.

Great final regular season game, Failure John Thompson the III and hopefully last. Villanova made a complete fool of you like every other team and every other coach does. If Georgetown doesn't get rid of him and his high and mighty overrated, underachieving father, they might as well just drop their basketball team entirely. I have been a fan for a long time, before Patrick Ewing arrived. And it's gotten to the point where I want the team to lose so that they have to fire this joke. I have never rooted against any other teams I am a fan of, even when they weren't doing well, this is the first time. The problem is that the incompetence at the top of Georgetown University and this cancer John Thompson Jr., the useless father, probably wouldn't make a coaching change if the team went 0-32 and lost every game by 40 or more points. The program is doomed and will only get worse.

I think he did the best that he could, butttttt its time to win and these young men should be enjoying their time playing college basketball.

Please resign! Don't force them to do something you know you should do yourself. But if not, fire Thompson!

He has proved over and over again that he cannot produce a team that wins games in February and March.

Time for a change. He's had ample chances to get this team going.

Hate like hell to sign this, but the time has come. Letter was more than respectful. I've been a life time Hoya fan, and Thompson defender, but at the end of the day this is about Georgetown Basketball.

Another loss to St. John's. Even Thompson III's father has to admit now that he has to be fired. Another losing season coming. Georgetown basketball has become a complete embarrassment.

It's the definition of insanity to think that the program will improve with JT3 still at the helm.

Get rid of Thompson immediately. He is a terrible coach. The only reason he is there is because his father seems to have so much clout, which is ridiculous. His father had success a long time ago and honestly with the talent he had, should have done much better. He was very overrated and underachieved. They should have won multiple National Championships, not 1. But that's not important now. John Thompson III is a disaster. The program now is terrible and we need a real coach that can bring this team back to being a strong contender.

one can judge a coach with game adjustments and coming out of timeouts. above average talent witg the worst coach in d1.
