"The hill top of Ansonia and surrounding areas are a big reason why people move into the city, to change the natural landscape by putting an Over-Sized Commercial Building would severely devalue the residential houses in the area and that is not acceptable."

Dear Ansonia residence and residence of the 6th and 7th ward,

Please sign this petition to not allow Zone A changes that will allow for assisted living facilities that are up to four stories high in our neighborhoods. There are 8 parcels of land that can be effected with this change to Zone A. Let's fight to keep our town to remain as is, with beautiful houses, parks and woodlands.

The proposed zoning change submitted to the Ansonia Planning and Zoning commitee is being requested from a private developer to increase building height to include four story buildings, essentially an apartment complex, and to include Assisted Living Facilities to be approved.

We moved here for a reason and not to have commercial buildings be approved by the city of Ansonia for immediate gains and not thinking of the long term effects on the people that live here!

Property Value Decreases!

Traffic in the Area Increases!

Protected Wetlands destroyed!

Developers can build on other sites without you having a say!

Here are some additional thoughts to consider:

What is the impact on WPCA usage? Can our facility handle it? Will fees increase?

What happens if the proposed Assisted living facility eventually closes? Do we now have another abandoned building? Can they then turn it into a housing complex?

What is the environmental impact? Are there species living there that will be displaced?

The proposal submitted on February 10, 2020 by Optimus Senior Living is specific to one area on the hilltop, 64 Pulaski Drive, the 23+ acres that sits between Farrell Drive and Fitzpatrick.

However, IF THIS ZONING IS PASSED THEN ALL OF ZONE A will also be changed for future development! A change to Zone A in Ansonia effects the following areas that are shaded in purple on the map. You will be effected if we allow this change to happen!

Please help by signing this petition! Pass the word on before it is too late!

I have been reviewing the detailed feedback regarding the proposed zoning changes in our neighborhood. Your concerns about property values and local infrastructure are being compiled into a formal document for the Planning and Zoning committee. We must remain focused on preserving the character of our residential streets.

The momentum behind this effort clearly demonstrates how much our community values the character of our neighborhoods. It is encouraging to see so many residents unite in defense of our local landscape and long-term property stability.

We chose to live here because of the natural surrounding. You have an empty nursing facility right down on Ford. This will disrupt our peaceful living area , with more traffic and more noise. Why not a nature reserve and save the wildlife

I don’t believe this is necessary as there is a vacant senior center about a mile and a half away that could be an assisted living center. Reduce Reuse Recycle.

I lived in Ansonia for 27 years and my mother still lives on the hilltop. It would be a disservice and disruption to the community to commercialize the residential areas of Ansonia.

An assisted living facility alone would jam up traffic on these cow paths that are accepted as roads. Add in multi story apartments complexes, I'd say it will be a mess.

I approved the original subdivision for single family homes 15 years ago. This area should remain residential. There are plenty of alternate sites in town.

As a lifelong Hilltop resident, the last thing I want to see is the woods I grew up playing in turned into anything! We dont need to develop every piece of woodlands in town.

I dont live in the area but I have to agree with the residents of this area. I might want to move there someday and I wouldn't want that either!
