We the undersigned citizens of Covington, Kentucky ask the Mayor and City Commissioners to maintain free access for Covington residents to all of our city pools and the water park. This is one of the main recreations that Covington children have during the summer. Residents of Covington should be exempt from paying pool pass fees. Having this amenity sets us apart from the surrounding cities. The amount of money the City hopes to gain from Pool Pass fees does not compare to the over 19,000 individuals that will be impacted by having to pay a fee, which they may not be able to afford. This will result in the loss of one of their free, summer recreations.

I am currently gathering testimonies from families who will lose their only summer recreation if these fees move forward. Please email your city commissioner today to tell them that our pool access must remain free for every resident. The kids don't have anything to do in the summer as it is. This is the one thing we still have for them and we don't have as many pools as we used to. I don't think they should have to pay for the one thing that keeps them out of the streets. We I was younger we had recreation centers that kept the youth busy.
I have 5 daughters that go to this pool and to have to pay a fee well I just can't afford it for my 5 kids and my self . If there is a fee it will take swimming away from my children .
We the less fourtante can not afford to pay for our children to swim everyday. We lucky we can pay our bills let alone our kids to swim. This is something us lower class can take our kids during the summer to spend time with that don't cost us anything. So please don't charge our children to swim .......
Covington/Latonia is a low income city for the most part. Charging a fee for the pools/water park will leave a number of children with too much free time during the summer. When children have nothing to capture their interest, trouble begins. Keep the water park/pool passes free!!
Our taxes, insurance premiums and waste fees have already gone up. We are actually paying more and getting less. This is unreal.
