Despite improvements being made all over Hampshire and Southampton, this area of High Street in the heart of the city has been overlooked for fast broadband deployment.

You may have noticed when browsing service providers that broadband packages for Telephone House apartments are limited to outdated ADSL packages at dramatically lower speeds but relatively high cost.

However, there is good news! The CEO of Openreach (provider of fibre infrastructure for BT and many others) has taken a personal interest in our case. The Openreach infrastructure team are now making Telephone House a priority and are reviewing the site for fibre rollout. Their proposal for fibre installation will be handed to F&S Management who will present it to the building owners on 19th September 2016. This is where we can help each other...

The louder the voice of the residents the better the chance the proposal has of being approved. Please sign this petition to show your support whether you are a tenant or an owner so that we can enhance the building we all share and get some decent broadband! Thank you!!

My broadband is intermittent and drops out. I have had 2 changes by BT Engineers already with no success. I am one of the directors for telephone house so will be supporting this action.

My friends who live in the countryside cannot believe how slow our broadband is in the city centre, especially as we are in a former BT building!

Hi Gary, F&S Management support the proposal however it is the building owners (the Directors) who may deny or postpone the work due to concerns over cost and disruption to the building. If they know the majority of residents support the move and Openreach assure them any disruption will be minimal then it increases the chances of the proposal being approved. Frank

The Fibre proposal has been approved!! Openreach are making Telephone House a priority and pushing it into the current work programme which ends this December. This means all residents could have the option to upgrade as early as January. Although this may seem far away it is fast considering they were not thinking of enabling fibre in this area at all before this process was started. Thanks to all for your support. If everything goes to plan I'll throw a fibre party in my tiny apartment to celebrate - you're all welcome!! :) Frank Flat 83

Why would FS management reject an upgrade to fibre broadband?
