The board ruled in our favor and Little Bears can finally reopen its doors. I am completely overwhelmed by the kindness you all showed to help make this happen for the children. This outcome belongs to every one of you who stood by us when things looked uncertain.

This is a petition that will be presented to the Zoning Hearing board to help persuade the board to over rule Wolf Township's decision to deny Carrie Edkin to open her small business named, Little Bears Family Daycare. The hearing will take place at the Friends Church in Hughesville, PA on December 21, 2015 @ 7pm. Please help support Carrie Edkin to follow her dream and enable her to keep providing great quality care to our local families and preparing our children for Kindergarten. The children enjoy all the classes Carrie offers. Some of those classes include music class, circle time, art class, sign language class, and one on one learning time. She goes above and beyond what is required by the state. The children our on a wonderful preschool routine. Her hopes is to open her family daycare the beginning of January. That will only happen if she is granted a Certificate of Occupancy at the December 21st hearing.

After being denied by Wolf Township to open, Carrie was forced to close her doors, right before Christmas. Children have called her crying and miss her dearly. As she misses them just as much! Carrie was denied for not being a " professional business. " The deed restrictions state that no businesses are allowed unless it is a professional business. The Department of Public Welfare who regulates family, group, and daycare centers verified a daycare is considered a professional business. As daycares are required to follow many laws and regulations. Daycares also have inspections and have legal contracts between each family. Before the Edkin's purchased their property in LAM Development, they contacted Zoning which approved Carrie to open her daycare. They also spoke to their realtor and to two lawyers!! All approving Carrie Edkin to open. The Edkin's spent $205,000 on a property that was purchased to expand her families living space and daycare. Then spent an additional $13,000 on a huge remodel of the first floor. Their life savings and time has been invested in this from the start. Please help Carrie by signing this petition and attending her hearing on 12/21/15. Carrie was put on this earth to work with children. Let's help her continue her life dream!

Carrie will be holding an Open House to the LAM Development Community on December 19th, 2015 at 5pm. Her wish is to properly introduce herself to her neighbors and to show them all the hard work her family has done to her family daycare. Light refreshments will be available and she encourages everyone in the development to stop by!

Thank you for your time & God Bless!

* Please do not sign if you live out of state/area. I would like to present to the board the number of people who in our community this effects and/or in support of this! * Thanks!

Seeing the count climb toward one hundred has been completely overwhelming and I am just humbled by your kindness. This movement belongs to all of you because your belief in these children is the only thing keeping this effort moving forward. If you can help us reach that next milestone, it would genuinely mean the world to me and the families who need these doors back open.

Our community needs a safe place for our children to grow and learn while parents work. Benefits of this Family Day Care will trickle down through our town and our school district for years to come. We are a small town and we need to support our families!

My Grandchildren love it at Carrie's. My granddaughter is upset about not going to Carrie's. It is a relief to know who is taking care of our children, a place where they learn, have friends and be lovingly taken care of. It is a shame anyone would want to see this daycare lost.

As a mother of two hold ten who worked and went to school I know how tough it is to find affordable childcare in a good home and that's what Carrie offers .. By taking her right away to open her daycare you are taking valuable childcare from many hard working parents .. Please reconsider

Sorry but you must not know the whole story. They (the township) told her she could open, that is why it's going this far. After she bought the house, they (the township) went back on their word. She asked all the necessary questions before buying the property. Carrie is doing this for the Children.

So many children are asking for their school, their friends, the place their mom and dad took them to learn and grow...as a community don't you think we should all listen?!? These are our youngest members of our community and their voice matters!!

Why is it we can have 4-5 BARS operating in a two block section of town, but, something as important as our children's CARE and EDUCATION can get knocked down like this?!?!? :-( THEY ARE OUR FUTURE AFTER-ALL!!!!

I have a degree also. What does that have to do with anything? In your own words: 1st amendment.

Ok this conversation is getting a little ridiculous. But thanks for agreeing with me that it won't affect your property value!!!!
