The committee reached a final decision to reject the proposed rate hikes. We successfully secured the outcome we demanded for Montana utility customers. I am now transitioning to monitoring the implementation process to ensure full compliance with this ruling.

This petition was inspired by customers wanting to protest the outrageous hikes by northwestern energy (hikes directly related to taxes, delivery fees, and inaccurate estimations) The goal of this petition will be to ensure fair and reasonable utilities for ALL of Montana. Whether it be regulating current utility service providers pricing or changing providers, we deserve a fair rate for the whole State.

We are approaching the one thousand signature threshold which will be the primary metric presented during our next scheduled meeting with legislative representatives. We need to finalize these numbers now to ensure our arguments carry maximum weight during the committee review process.

As a single mother living paycheck to paycheck this is very stressful! How do I decide whether to have power and heat, or feed my kids? I believe I should have an option in who I choose for my energy. Most people cannot afford these increases!
if the Utility has had Technical issues will its customers be getting a credit for the overbilling or estimating? The Utility should be required to provide the source of the issue and the fix as well as plans to make it right with the customer.
I think there needs to be more competition. It's not right that they can just raise rates to pay for their property taxes and other things they deem necessary. The commission needs to do better for the people and we need more competition for NW Energy!
Single mom with a disability and pay more in fees than my actual usage!!! I'm often fearful of losing my utilities which means I also wouldn't have running water as I have a well. When I have nothing to give they are terribly unforgiving and uncaring!
It seems this most recent hike is NW energy passing their property taxes onto their customers. Google it. There was coverage on Fox news recently about it, but they claimed only single digit percentage increases. Not the 300% most are seeing now.
No rate hikes for Montana our utilities are already too high
2024 hike in our energy is horrible for this family of 6 , why is NW energy our only option

My delivery fee is almost as much as the electrical supply charge. I have a shop and a house and I am charged delivery fees for both which amount to over $166 a month. The delivery charge for October was $58.65 which is more than double the new charge.
