We are concerned Northwest Indiana citizens protesting the most recent NIPSCO utility rate increases. These sudden and extreme rate hikes are inflicting hardship on the citizens of Northwest Indiana including vulnerable segments of our population such as seniors and those on fixed incomes.
The state recently allowed NIPSCO a 9.75% profit margin while the average household bill in our area is over $400. Putting profits before people is not the Hoosier way! We deserve FAIR and AFFORDABLE rates!

- NIPSCO is the most expensive electric utility in Indiana.
- NIPSCO rates are roughly 30% higher than the national average.
- NIPSCO rates are higher than almost every major utility in Illinois, Michigan, Ohio, and Kentucky.

I am on a fixed income and my utility bills are now higher than my rent and I am struggling to keep up this is robbery ‼️
We keep our thermostat on 65 and have made so many cut backs on lights and gas usage, layer Clothes just to be home, yet our bill goes up 150+ every month. My 10 year old who has struggled with adhd and always found school a struggle, found swim 2 years ago. It became her outlet and turned her behavior and struggles at school around. She’s excelling and thriving, and now I don’t know if I can keep affording to pay for her swim team as I barely have enough to pay the nipsco. It’s one thing to take from working adults, but to take from innocent children, shame on you nipsco.
I do not want everything to become a subscription. If I don't use the utilities I should not be charged for using it. I cannot afford anything at this point, making my utilities into a subscription will not help with anything.

Stop charging these ridiculous fees. We cannot afford these huge delivery fees.

These rate increases and delivery fees cannot continue. People and businesses will be bankrupt while Nipsco continues to bring in record profits and fund data centers.
