Due to the fact that members of Lake Bracken Country Club did not have an opportunity to provide input prior to the board decision not to renew the contract of J.R.Millar for 2018 in order to place a newly hired manager over all operations in 2018 we are circulating this petition.

Our stance, as members of Lake Bracken Country Club, is that retaining our current PGA Professional, J.R. Millar, for 2018 is necessary to the continued success and recognition of the Lake Bracken Country Club Golf Program. This PGA Professional has been a loyal employee for many years. The programs for junior and beginner golfers as well individual lessons on request are strong pieces of the golf program that has been established successfully at LBCC. His involvement with local high school and college programs is significant. These programs grow our membership. This PGA Professional organizes events for all levels that provide members with a variety of opportunities for involvement. The merchandise that he is able to provide due to his many connections with club and clothing marketers is well received by all members. Having a PGA Professional of the caliber of J.R. Millar is an asset to the Club as a whole. Giving up the employment of a PGA Professional may and probably will affect many aspects of the golf operation at LBCC negatively.

It is our position that the retention of J.R. Millar, PGA Professional, is necessary to the continued success of the LBCC golf program. We are requesting that this decision be reviewed and reversed.

Wanted to say that I am hoping that our president and board of Directors will come up with a fair and equitable agreement to have our pro JR remain for our 2018 season and beyond so that our golf programs remain outstanding. I believe that although change does happen if it isn't broken don't try to fix or change it.

J. R. is a huge asset to the club and to the youth in our community. If it wasn't for J. R, I would not have been able to introduce the game of golf to my K-5 students at Nielson. J. R. provided brand new equipment for us at the schools and took time out of his busy schedule to come and teach the kids a lesson. Also my son participated in the junior golf program this past summer and had a blast. He is already looking forward to golf this summer and I credit J. R. for that because of his enthusiasm and excitement for the sport.

I think J.R. i s one of the best young men I have known and is an outstanding golf pro. We are fortunate to have him at our club and in our community. His commitment to the various youth golf programs as well as his more than willing attitude to help any golfer or any member of our club in any way that he can,is second to none.I personally think it would be one of our clubs biggest mistakes ever if we did not renew his contract. I respectfully would ask our board to give some serious thought as to how his possible termination could adversely the well being of our club.

J R's committment to our Country Club is an asset. He supported a new youth program in District 205 on the elementary level that encourgages the Physical Education Dept to have golf as part of their curriculum. This must have been a success since our youth program for ages 3 and up had the biggest attendance in years. These young people are our future.

JR is a great asset. He provides many services that would cost members significantly more if we had to go outside our own pro shop. He also encourages youth and students to pursue the game of golf. They are the future of the game and this club.
